My new favourite breaky place!! Food was amazing! You could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The menu had a good mix of breakfast items. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. We picked up some pastries and spelt bread on the way out.
Absolutely fantastic, ordering was easy and sparkling water was on tap. We ordered the breakfast gnocchi, chef’s special French toast and apple crumble. All the food was absolutely amazing, will be back.
One of my favourite breakfast dish was the Baked apple and pear crumble. I always order this every time I visit this cafe. They present this so beautifully and it was absolutely delicious. Sadly, on this occasion when I was with a group of friends, and when I was probably two thirds into the dish I found some light coloured hair with the soft pear. It wasn't in the granola, that would be dry. It was probably baked with the pear. I didn't feel comfortable to mention it, as everyone else was enjoying their meals, and I felt embarrassed mine had the hair in it. I felt a bit repulsive thinking about it, so I just stopped eating it.
Every time we visit this cafe, our expectations are met above and beyond. Such friendly faces and warm atmosphere. Delicious food and coffee, we will continue to make this a weekend staple.
Alcove is one of the greats. I wish there was more ways I could mark this place as top tier. The food is varied, right, delightful and just the quintessential Australian breakfast. They use traditional recipes cooked to perfection with lovely decor and flair. The service is so warm and energising. The servers are happy, pleasant and make you feel like you’re their best friend. Even when it’s chockablock busy, this place will get your food out promptly. You won’t be left waiting too long. But just long enough that you know all of this was prepared fresh. 2023 Edit: they’re still good but I think the food has changed a little. It’s not quite as golden as it used to be. But a lot of cafes aren’t after the latest inflation.
